Krewe of McGinley Square, 673 Bergen Ave , Jersey City, NJ

The flavors of New Orleans are in McGinley Square, Jersey City now!

Krewe has set up shop at 673 Bergen Avenue, Spring of 2021.

The restaurant is the brainchild of Jersey City-based actress and filmmaker Hank Morris and chef Anthony Tamburro, a husband and wife duo.

Krewe is a term for a social club, many of which are involved in Mardi Gras parades.

Lynne Drury From NOLA will be joining us doing a set of her original material Mississippi native Lynn Drury moved to New Orleans in 1995 with the dream of becoming a singer/songwriter. Picking up the guitar in 1996, she hit the ground running and began performing coffee shops and clubs, landing a weekly at Margaritaville in 1998 where she cut her teeth not only as a singer and songwriter, but also as an entertainer. She continued her residency for five years, landing her first band slot at the N.O. Jazz& Heritage Festival in 2003. She's been a regular performer ever since and has amassed a die-hard fan base.

With her catchy melodies and burnished voice, Drury has been called "A one woman army of soul" - Caleb Guillotte - Her unique style is the product of her country music raisin' mixed with her love R&B and Pop, and twenty plus years of soaking up the sounds of the Crescent City. She started out calling her music, Twang 'n Groove, then "Mississippi Grit, New Orleans Groove," settling finally on "NOLAmericana." Over the past two decades, that meticulously cultivated style – NOLAmericana® – has brought Drury’s original music to stages all over the world. With a distinctive voice, this is definitive New Orleans Americana created in a city that moves to its own groove.

I will be returning to this iconic venue, to be part of Singer Songwriter in the round. Each artist will perform and tell stories in a round robin setting Featuring Ronnie Penque, bass player and singer for The New Riders of the Purple David Frye Soulful progressive acoustic folk, rock, roots & R&B An accomplished drummer, Johnny can be found playing his kit these days with The New Riders of the Purple Sage and Stir Fried. When not on the road with The NRPS, Johnny works with his band, Stir Fried, and plays with various artists in many styles. Songwriting is also in his blood. His father, Thomas Jefferson Kaye, was a legendary producer and songwriter in the 1960s and 1970s.

Grammy Nominated songwriter and NY Blues Hall of Fame inductee, Christine Santelli (guitar, vocals) teams up with Blues Hall of Fame, powerhouse Heather Lil’ Mama Hardy (fiddle,vocals) for special project. After a successful tour down south and out west, Santelli and Hardy bring this project to their home turf where they first met in 1996. Heather now resides and in Tucson Arizona where she has a successful career with her own Band Lil’ Mama. Heather Hardy: "Heather Hardy's violin slices through like a diving falcon. Her solos marry lightning virtuosity with melodic sophistication and unhindered soul."
